Indigenous Futures in Engineering (InEng) is committed to growing the number of Indigenous engineers in Canada. InEng inspires Indigenous youth to explore their potential to study engineering and also supports Indigenous engineering students at Queen’s on their journey to become qualified engineers.
InEng provides a broad range of academic and social support for Indigenous engineering students at Queen’s, from tutoring and dedicated study spaces to social events and opportunities to participate in national and international competitions and conferences.
InEng develops and delivers outreach programs for Indigenous students and teachers across Ontario. Supported by NSERC's PromoScience program and a member of the Actua network, our outreach programs work directly in First Nations schools.
Hear from the Director, Melanie Howard, about the Indigenous Futures in Engineering program's approach to supporting students through their studies and assisting them with the next steps in their journey.
