A fully funded adventure for Grade 8 students from First Nations communities to discover Queen’s University and dive into exciting, hands-on STEM experiences!
The First Nations STEM Futures Academy (FNSF) at Queen’s University was founded with a critical mission: to address the underrepresentation of First Nations peoples in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. The initiative recognizes that increasing Indigenous participation in STEM is essential for promoting diverse perspectives, driving innovation, and advancing equity in these fields.
Indigenous Futures in Engineering is supported by NSERC's PromoScience program and the Actua network for our educational outreach in schools on First Nations.
Indigenous Futures in Engineering produces a number of fun and educational publications meant for children and youth. They are made available freely through partnerships with various foundations, individual donors, and research centres.
The materials available are available for your use, as a PDF download. Please feel free to make copies for classroom, camp, or home use.
Indigenous students local to Kingston are eligible to apply for the Gilbert Monture Bursary to attend the Queen's Summer Engineering Academy
